Instructor: Paul Scott P.E. S.E.
Paul G. Scott, P.E., S.E., former Partner of Caruso Turley Scott, Inc., and currently a consulting engineer, Scott Engineering. Paul has been designing masonry structures in the Phoenix area for over 44 years and has been the Structural Project Manager on thousands of masonry projects. On July 29th, 1977, Brooks Billings, the Executive Director of the Arizona Masonry Guild, gave Paul a copy of the Reinforced Masonry Engineering Handbook (by James Amrhein) and that started Paul’s career in masonry design. In 2008, Paul became active in The Masonry Society (TMS) and became part of the 402/602 Main Committee, General Requirements, Construction Requirements, and Pre-Stressed Masonry Sub Committees. Paul has served many years on the AZ Masonry Guild and Arizona Masonry Council’s Technical Committee.
In 2022, Paul received the Arizona Masonry Council’s Lifetime Membership Award, and in 2023 Paul was awarded both distinguished TMS awards: TMS President’s Award (award details) and the TMS Paul Haller Structural Design Award (award details).
